The Light Armoured Vehicle Workshop was completed on July 2010 for NZDF on time and on budget. The building was founded on piles which were incorporated into the design after significant value engineering was undertaken by McMillan & Lockwood to identify cost savings for the client.
The main structure consisted of a concrete slab with structural steel frame, PIR panel cladding / roofing. The total building footprint was 2500m2 including ground and 1st floors with space for offices, workshops, parts storage space, service pits, armoury and staff facilities.
